“I’ve been at my company 11 years. I was hired to create a database to manage the billing and reporting. I have always had a can do attitude, and do learn things quickly, but hadn’t ever used/built a database before. I ended up getting the job, and a few months later my manager told me that she knew I didn’t know how to do it, but seemed like someone who would learn and figure it out. I spent those first months checking books out at the library on databases, and looking up how to do things online a lot. Here I am many years later as an experienced database user at a critical role in my company. If you think you can do something, and you dedicate yourself to learning and doing it, there is very little that you can’t do.”
