Today is the first day of winter! (in northern hemi).
And there are 3 cool things happening today…
- Dec 21st is the shortest day of the year. So for those of you that complain about Mondays… this is the quickest one you’ll have :).
- The winter solstice means every single day going forward the sun will be shining a tiny bit longer. Our darkest days are over and our future is brighter! Literally!
- Jupiter and Saturn are the closest they will ever appear in the sky tonight. They haven’t aligned like this since 800 years ago! You should be able to see these planets with your naked eye (I can from Los Angeles), or there’s a free app called “SkyView Lite” that is pretty cool for planet/star finding.
