I got into a pretty bad surf accident last week…
I was flying down a massive wave when a beginner surfer with a huge longboard got in my way.
She was 100% in the wrong (surfers etiquette, I had right of way). Our boards collided, and my foot got smashed up too.
Needless to say, I was pretty pissed. Not only is there $200+ of damage to my board, but she could have seriously injured me. Collisions like that can be very dangerous.
However, I kept my cool. After the smash, instead of going mental at this poor beginner girl, I decided to bite my tongue, forgive, forget, and move on with life. No use staying angry because of an accident, no matter who’s fault it is.
I spent the rest of the week and weekend looking at new surf boards, all in the $400 – 600 range. It sucks that I have to shell out so much money, but, I’ve had a positive attitude about it all.
Well, finally on Sunday night I found this sucker…
It was listed for only $75!!! Which is an AMAZING deal – it’s practically brand new, just a little dirty. The person who sold it was also a beginner surfer, and couldn’t ride this one properly. They also had no idea what it was worth, so I got a killer deal.
I like to think karma had a hand in this exchange…
Could it be that by staying clam, forgiving and being nice to one beginner surfer —> earned me such a sweetheart deal with a different beginner surfer? 🤷♂️
Today: Stay patient, be kind, and lead with a positive attitude no matter what happens.
It all comes back around, someway, somehow.
Have a great Wednesday my friends!
