There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says “Morning, boys. How’s the water?”
And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes “What the hell is water?”

(David Foster Wallace said this story first, but I just learned it last week from this post over at Best Interest blog.)
Most people swim through life from big event to big event, without realizing that we are surrounded by life, everywhere. It’s not just the big noticeable things that we should focus on and look forward to… It’s the teeny tiny things.
For example, today you might have a fun BBQ planned. But there are 1000 tiny little moments leading up to the BBQ, (and 1000 more tiny moments after the BBQ) that you will live through also. Enjoy these tiny moments too. This is where most of life happens.
Simple pleasures are hiding in plain sight. Slow down and take notice!
Happy Sunday my friends!
Love, Joel
Massive flower I saw at the park yesterday. This thing was the size of a small dinner plate! 😳
