Chatting with a therapist friend a while ago, he gave me some awesome advice dealing with kids. He said…
“When you work with kids, try to enter their world before teaching, explaining things, or disciplining them. Kids see things completely different than you, so meet them in their world”
Great advice. It’s been working well.
In fact, it’s such great advice that I thought it might also work trying it with adults… So over the past couple of weeks I’ve been trying to “enter their world” when talking with friends, coworkers, strangers, etc.
And do you know whats happening?!… My conversations are going smoother, I’m more patient and empathetic, and we cooperate better.
Who would have thought? Seeing things from other people’s perspectives actually is helpful!? 😉
Try it today. Enter their world.
Wishing you a great day, full of collaboration and progress ✅
Love, Joel
